PERSONAL SAFETY MEASURES

  • This virus may have declared war on us, but we can choose to make meaningful steps towards ensuring our community will triumph!  We can all do this by taking steps to kill the virus around us through hand-washing often, sanitizing all surfaces we come in contact with, and coughing or sneezing into your elbow.  Further, take care of Your Health! Your immune system functions best with proper care and feeding of your Mind, Body, and Soul! Recommended precautions are good first steps, and also assuming that you may already have been exposed to the virus and take recommended actions to restore your health quickly.

    • Hydrate:  Drink your body weight in Fluid ounces! Consider herbal teas, broths/soups, or other warm liquids as well.

    • Sleep:  Your body functions best with 8+ hours of rest. This aids in the recovery and acceleration of your immune system.

    • Stay Active: Exercise is Medicine!  Your immune system functions will increase with physical movement, and your stress will go down.

    • Meditate/Self Care: The breathing technique of “4x4” breaths can help! You do each stage of breathing for 4 seconds (Inhale, Hold, Exhale, Hold) and repeat for as long as necessary. Also, find an uplifting book, blog, or video to watch that will improve your outlook.

    • Good Nutrition:  It takes fuel to fight!  Do your best to avoid the snacking on poor nutrition choices that will suppress your immune system, and make you feel slow/sluggish. Take pride in the time you have at home to research new recipe ideas and break up the monotony of the day!
